MILTON — The Rev. Robert B. Libby, 82, of 72 Elementary School Road, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at the Watsontown Health & Rehab Center.
He was born April 24, 1931, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Harvey and Elsie (Royer) Libby. On June 23, 1951, he married the former Nancy Ellen Long, who survives. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Robert was a 1949 graduate of Lewisburg High School. He was a veteran of the Army having served during the Korean War.
An ordained pastor, Robert served in Fairchance, Pa., for seven years and as interim pastor of several other area churches. He retired from the Lewisburg Post Office, where he was a mail carrier for over 17 years.
Robert was a member of the Revival Tabernacle, Watsontown.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting, but most of all he loved preaching.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Beth Libby, of Hughesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Glen Bennage, of New Columbia; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sally Libby, of Venice, Fla.; three grandchildren, Clint Libby, Jennifer and Brian Coup; seven stepgrandchildren, Glenda Fulmer, Deanna McGreedy, Mark Bennage, Justin (Tiffany) Dieter, Zach Dieter, Katlyn Dieter, and Patrick Dieter; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, John Robert Libby; a brother, Wayne Libby; and a sister, Gladys Litz.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
