MILTON — R. Richard Morrison, 79, of Limestone Road, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Kelly Township, a son of the late Gale T. Morrison and Ellen I. (Middleton) Gabel and was raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Sarah and Stanley Lazarus. He was married on June 7, 1953, to the former Mary Ellen Billmeyer, who survives.
Dick was a 1952 graduate of Milton High School.
He was employed for more than 30 years as a machinist at the Continental Can Co., Milton, retiring when the plant closed. He then served as road master for East Chillisquaque Township and Limestone Township.
He was a member of Winfield Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sharon R. Scully, of Randallstown, Md., Yvonne A. and Glenn Hersh, of Camp Hill, Lisa L. and Ronald Toczek, of Danville, and Colleen C. and Robert Veitch, of Milton; one brother, James S. Morrison, of Brownstown; two cousins with whom he was raised, Robert and Kenneth Lazarus; his beloved uncle, Willard Middleton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Bethany, Bryan, David, Travis, Calista, Hayley, Robert and Adam; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Winfield Baptist Church, 330 Route 304, Winfield, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Corey Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Upper West Chillisquaque Cemetery, Milton.
