MIDDLEBURG — Arlene L. Loss, 84, of Scholl Road, passed away at 9:22 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Center Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Ammon and Florence DeLong Keister. In 1948, she married Robert W. Loss, who preceded her in death in 1986.
Arlene attended the Ockers and Penns Creek schools.
She had been employed at Kool-Tex, Mifflinburg, and retired as an aide at the Laurelton Center.
Arlene had attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Penns Creek.
She enjoyed bingo, Chinese auctions and playing games and cards. She found much joy in the family dog, Suzie-Q.
She is survived by one son, William M. Loss, of Middleburg, and his companion, Elaine Martin; one grandson, Matthew Loss; one great-niece whom she thought of as a daughter, Janet DiNatale, of Mount Pleasant Mills; two nephews, Maynard and Delbert Keister; and a niece, Phyllis Sauers.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Shane Loss; one brother, Elsworth Keister; one sister, Erma Keister; one nephew, Richard Keister; and one niece, Erma Solomon.
Friends and family will be received from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor David Swartzentruber officiating.
Burial will be in Penns Creek Union Cemetery.
