DANVILLE — Robert W. Pick, 85, of 41 Mateo Drive, formerly of Rushtown, Northumberland County, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville.
He was born March 26, 1927, in Rush Township, Northumberland County, a son of the late Charles A. and Bertha E. (Forney) Pick. On Nov. 14, 1953, he married the former Shirley L. Krum, who survives.
Robert was a 1944 graduate of Danville High School and a graduate of Bloomsburg State Teachers College with a degree in business. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and served as a yeoman.
He was employed by First National Bank for 42 years and retired in 1992 as head cashier.
He was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Riverside, and had served as a trustee and treasurer and a member of the Danville Lions Club.
Robert enjoyed gardening and carpentry.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Duane R. and Yalonda Pick, of Troy; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra K. and David Eddy, of Anchorage, Alaska; four granddaughters, Chelsea, Megan, Kaylie and Marle Pick; two grandsons, Michael and Jason Eddy; two brothers, Charles O. Pick, of North Jackson, Ohio, and Boyd E. Pick, of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Pick, in infancy.
Relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, followed by the funeral at 11 with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley, officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
