RICHFIELD — Gladys K. Kratzer, 78, of Richfield, formerly of Middleburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at ManorCare, Sunbury.
Gladys was born April 17, 1934, in Freeburg, a daughter of the late Nelson and Dora (Perkinson) Straub. On May 31, 1952, Gladys married Myron A. Kratzer, who survives. Her passing breaks a loving marital union of 60 years.
She was a graduate of Freeburg High School.
She was a member of Christian Union Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.
Gladys enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Nancy Hockenbroch, of Selinsgrove; two granddaughters, Sarah Hockenbroch and Kimberly Walter; two great-grandsons, Tyler Walter and Justin Russell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marian and Joseph Volinskie, of Freeburg, and Janetta and Gary Bieber, of Sunbury; and nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded by one daughter, Joyce Kleckner, and two brothers, Ralph Straub, at birth, and Henry Straub.
There will be no viewing; the casket will be closed. A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, followed by the funeral at 2, all at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with her pastor, the Rev. Daryl M. Kuhns, officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
