Hazel L. Bartlett, 99, Montgomery

— MONTGOMERY — Hazel L. Bartlett, 99, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center, where she had lived since May 2013.

She was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Mazeppa, a daughter of the late Harry and Lottie (Hackenberg) Stover. She was married to Ralph A. Bartlett until his death in 1995.

Hazel had been employed by Montgomery Mills and was a member of Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery.

She loved sending cards to her family and friends and enjoyed reading and doing word-find puzzles. She cherished times spent with her family.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy L. Fisher, of Montgomery, Judy M. and William “Jack” Marshall, of Watsontown, and Sherry C. and O. Michael Wright, of Montgomery; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Stover, of Oceanside, Calif.; and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Stover, of Picture Rocks, and Edith St. James, of Montgomery.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Wertz; two grandchildren, Cory Marshall and Lori Wertz; five brothers, Ralph, Miles, Charles, Merlyn and Robert Stover; and two sisters, Helen Stover, who died in infancy, and Gladys Breidinger.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 to noon Saturday at Clinton Baptist Church, 19 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, followed by the funeral at noon with her pastor, the Rev. David Jacobs, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Hazel’s memory be made to her church.
