MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS — Gay Patricia Stroup, 78, of St. Johns Street, went home to be with her Lord at 2:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born June 17, 1935, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (Clotfelter) Stroup. Patty was a graduate of Middleburg High School and the Coatesville School of Nursing.
She was employed for more than 30 years as a registered nurse at Evangelical Community Hospital, where she was responsible for infection control.
She attended St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.
Patty was an avid traveler and saw many parts of the world.
She is survived by one nephew, Anthony K. Womer; two nieces, Sharon G. Shields and husband Dan and Roxanne Renne Summers and husband, Doug; two great-nephews, Shawn Womer and wife Missy and Dane Summers; and two great-nieces, Tabitha Shields and Skye Hepburn and husband Ben.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Ruth Womer; one brother, in infancy; and her longtime companion, Richard L. Wagner.
Patty was dearly loved by her close family and longtime friends.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas Independent Brethren in Christ Church, 1070 St. Thomas Road, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Roger L. Womer officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Millerstown.
