MILLERSTOWN — Olive Mae “Betsy” Sweigart, 65, of Millerstown, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her home.
She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Richfield, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Sterling and Helen (Holtzapple) Spriggle. She was married to George W. Sweigart, who survives. They celebrated 22 years of marriage.
Betsy attended Middleburg High School.
She assisted her daughter, Melinda, with the operation of the Birdie Nest at Shade Mountain Golf Course, Middleburg.
Betsy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jenn Spriggle, of Selinsgrove; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and John Packer Jr., of New Berlin; five grandchildren, Natasha Kuhns, Ashley Packer and her fiance, Casey Wright, Skye Spriggle, Zachary Spriggle and Shane Spriggle; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Jayden and Mikalah; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Betty Spriggle, of Middleburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Connie Adee and Nancy and Jimmy Collins, all of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by two sons, Jamie Spriggle on June 29, 2010, and Scotty Spriggle; one brother-in-law, Joseph Adee; and one sister, Patricia Musser and her husband, Rick.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 8 with Pastor Daryl Kuhns officiating.
Burial will be private.
Should friends desire, gifts may be made in loving memory of Betsy to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
