SELINSGROVE — Dorothy M. Dorman, 82, of Route 204, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Spring Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late William H. and Mintie B. (Pennington) Oldt. Dorothy was married to Ralph E. Dorman for 50 years , until his passing on Aug. 14, 2001.
Earlier in her life she had worked at the family store in Forrest Hill.
She was later employed at Wilson Manufacturing, Sunbury; CVS; Groce’s Silk Mill, Selinsgrove; Sterling Throwing Mills, Mifflinburg; and Middleburg Silk Mill.
Dorothy was a member of Zion Church of Kratzerville and a social member of the Middleburg V.
A fan of classic country music, she will be remembered for her many evenings out dancing at area clubs.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Rose M. and Earl Cartnail, of Harrisburg, Connie L. and Lonny Hackenburg, of Selinsgrove, and Molly D. and Richard E. Martin Jr., of Fort Indiantown Gap; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her companion of the past 2 1/2 years, Jim Brouse, of Selinsgrove; and Ralph W. Heim and his wife Judy, of Hummels Wharf, whom she considered a son.
She was preceded in death by one sister Thelma Ross.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at V.L. Seebold Funeral Home , 601 N High St., Selinsgrove, where the funeral will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor Patricia A. Bennett officating.
Burial will be in Zion Reformed Cemetery, Kratzerville.
