Bernice I. Leiser, 92, Dewart

— DEWART — Bernice I. Leiser, 92, of Dewart, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her home.

She was born Jan. 10, 1922, in New Columbia, a daughter of the late Ralph and Tillie (Poust) Koch. On Jan. 11, 1940, she married William C. Leiser. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage, until his death on Dec. 10, 1991.

Bernice was a graduate of Milton High School.

She worked as a housewife raising her children on the family farm.

Bernice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run) where she was very active with many events over the years. She was also a member of the McEwensville Garden Club.  

Bernice enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William II and Shirley Leiser, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Samuel and Ruth Ann Leiser, of Watsontown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Kenneth Houser, of Orlando, Fla., and Rose Ann Williams, of Savannah, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Danny Houser, Diana Burrows, Kimberly Smith, Matthew Williams, Andrie Rovenolt, William Leiser III, Kari Pusey and Jake Leiser; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run), 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11, with her pastor, the Rev. Faron Johnson, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Bernice’s memory be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church (Delaware Run), 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777, or Evangelical Hospice, One Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
