Steven W. Fessler Sr., 61, Hughesville

HUGHESVILLE — Steven W. Fessler Sr., 61, of Hughesville, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 9, 1951, in Williamsport, a son of Lois Aldine Sheets Reeder and the late John Howard Fessler Jr.  He and his wife, the former Brenda K. Kleese, celebrated 23 years of marriage on June 17, 2012.

Steve was previously employed at the former Anton Waldman’s, Hughesville and currently employed at Schneider Valley Farms.

He was a former member of the Hughesville Fire Department and was currently a member of National Turkey Federation, North American Hunting Club and STAR Touring & Riding, Chapter 369, serving as the Sergeant at Arms.   

Steve was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle. He was especially fond of his two black labs, Chance and Raven and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven W. Jr. and Barbara Fessler, of Milton, Daniel A. Fessler, of Dewart and Timothy H. Fessler, of Watsontown; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack L. and Karen Fessler, of Hughesville; one sister and brother-in-law, Gina L. and Carl Myers, of Benton; and three grandchildren, Mackenzie “McAdoo” Fessler, Lizabeth “Izzie” Fessler and Mason “Little Buck” Fessler.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

Flowers are welcome, however, memorial contributions may also be made to the Hughesville Fire Department, P.O. Box 53, Hughesville, PA 17737.
