He was born July 15, 1966, in Union, N.J., a son of George F. Kuba Sr., of Bethlehem, and the late Rosella (DiBonifazio) Kuba. On May 28, 1988, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg, he married the former Kim M. Graham who survives.

Mario was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mifflinburg, where he formerly served on the church council and traveled on mission trips to New Orleans and Virginia with his children.

He was a Cub Scout Leader with Troup 3520 and Boy Scout Leader with Troup 525 in Mifflinburg. Mario was an A.Y.S.O. coach and volunteer lacrosse coach for Mifflinburg High School.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mario will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 Market St., Mifflinburg, with the Rev. Peter Bergstresser, officiating.

Immediately following the service, family and friends are welcome to share in light refreshments and fellowship with the Kuba family in the church fellowship hall.

The Kuba Family would also like to thank coworkers, friends, and family. Through your kindness and support, we did not fight this battle alone.

Mario and his family would like to thank Fox Chase Cancer Center for their kindness and compassion in the treatment of his cancer. Our hope was for a cure, but in the end they provided us with the gift of time. Through his treatment, Mario was able to see Maria’s college graduation, Noah’s High School graduation, and Logan’s spring production at Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, (Kim and Mario’s home away from home),110 W. Laurel Ave., Cheltenham, PA 19012, or to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Esophageal Cancer Research, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
