DANVILLE — John E. Jones Jr., 73, of Danville, passed away Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013, at Grandview Health Homes, Inc., Danville.
He was born April 6, 1940, in Danville, a son of the late John E. Sr. and Mabel (Dobson) Jones.
John enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He also thoroughly enjoyed woodworking and developing many friendships throughout his life.
He was a self-employed carpenter. He was well known in this area for his carpentry and woodworking skills helping many homeowners and businesses.
John is survived by three sons, Ken Jones, of Womelsdorf, Russell Jones and his wife Diana, of Baltimore, Md., and Phillip Jones, of Goodyear, Ariz.; one daughter, Yvonne Jones, of Sunbury; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother, Nelson Jones, of Milton, Donald Jones, of Leonardtown, Md., and Dick Jones, of Danville.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene (south wing), 71 Nazarene Lane, Milton, where a celebration of John’s life will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Keiser officiating.
