SELINSGROVE — Shirley Ann Leed, 76, of Selinsgrove, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at her home.
She was born on July 17, 1937, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Lloyd Leed and Stella (Haldeman) Leed. She was of the Protestant faith.
Shirley was a vibrant, engaging lady. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as self-advocacy and leadership groups. She especially enjoyed watching The 3 Stooges and I Love Lucy shows. A few of her favorite things were coffee, beer, chewing tobacco, hoagies, and chips. She had a boundless sense of humor and always enjoyed joking with her friends.
Shirley enjoyed shopping. She received a great deal of joy from making cards and giving them to her many friends. Although her health declined, her personality continued to shine bright. She touched the lives of many and was loved and surrounded by caring friends until the end.
Shirley will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many friends and family.
She is survived by her brothers, Edward Leed and wife Annamarie, of Stevens, and Chester Leed, of Morgantown.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Paul and Jerome.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Faith, Hope and Love, Selinsgrove Center, Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral service at 10 with Chaplain Ron Turner officiating.
Burial will follow in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, 1918 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster.
