— DANVILLE — Louise M. Moran, of Danville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Emmanuel Center.

She was born July 15, 1927, in Scranton, a daughter of the late Carroll and Ethel Schunk. She was the wife of the late Dr. John Moran.

Louise led a full life that included many interests and hobbies. She was an accomplished piano player, fabulous cook, and had a lifelong love of travel. She was one of the founding members of Abigail’s Attic, created to provide clothing to many while supporting Geisinger through the Auxiliary.

“Mom Moran” was passionate about her family and will be remembered most for her kind and thoughtful nature and friendly smile. She was “the sweetest lady on the planet” according to her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Marks and her husband, Victor, of Danville, Cathy Stipe and her husband, Daniel, of Raleigh, N.C., Mary Ellen Doll and her husband, Helmut, of Danville; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

At the request of Louise, there will be no viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Louise’s life at noon Saturday, Jan. 25 at Grove Presbyterian Church, 330 Bloom St., Danville, with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Andrews officiating.
