MILTON — John H. Loss, 67, of Upper Market Street, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1946, in Danville, a son of the late John R. and Alice M. (Sheets) Loss. He was married on April 15, 1967, to the former Joyce M. Long, who survives.
John attended Danville schools and worked at ConAgra until he retired in 2006.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and liked to work on old cars. He liked Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a fan of professional wrestling and cooking shows.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, John R. and Janet Loss, of Milton, and Michael L. Loss, of Milton; one daughter, Tracy J. Smith, of Milton; three brothers, Donald L. Loss, of North Carolina, Allen C. Loss, of West Milton, and Terry L. Loss, of New Columbia; one sister, Wanda L. Weber, of Lewisburg; one half brother, John Fowler, of Milton; six grandchildren, John D. Loss, Greg S. Smith, Breanna M. Loss, Kristin L. Smith, Holly M. Smith and Brandon J. Arndt; and one great-grandson, Jonathon Austinson-Loss.
John was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas E. Loss; one sister, Sandra L. Loss; and one grandson, Tilghman Smith.
Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Friendship Baptist Church, 10 Voris Lane, Watsontown, where the funeral will be conducted at 7 with the Rev. Jerry Caswell officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, Milton.
