DANVILLE — Harry C. Johnson Jr., 68, of Danville, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.
He was born Aug. 13, 1945, in Derry Township, the son of the late Harry and Helen (Festemucher) Johnson. He was the loving husband of 35 years to the former Patricia Hunter, who survives.
He was employed with Kepler Bros. as a truck driver until his retirement. Harry then went to work at the Weis Markets in Bloomsburg.
Harry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting vegetables and flowers in his garden and walking in the woods behind his house. He was a Penn State fan and also had a love for country music. He was a talented guitarist and vocalist in a band called The County Boys. He always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his loving wife, Harry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Jillian Johnson, of Danville; two daughters, Shannon Johnson, of Danville, and Rebecca Johnson and her companion, Donavan Derr, of Newport; one stepson, Levi Brown and his wife, Michelle, of Berwick; 12 grandchildren, Andrew, Sean, Aaron, Julie, Braeden, Clayton, Wyett, Kristina, Josephine, Sam, Bridget and Amanda; one great-grandchild, Lucas; and six sisters, Shirley Koser, of Bloomsburg, Anna Kressler, of Bloomsburg, Naomi Brown, of Danville, Janet Crenshaw, of Texas, Margaret Abate, of New Jersey, and Nancy Baylor, of Danville.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Higgins and Jean Reibsome.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor R. Christian Dunlap officiating.
