Elizabeth B. Gatty, 82, Lewisburg

— LEWISBURG — Elizabeth B. Gatty, 82, of 15 WestRidge Lane, passed away at her home early Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

A native of Russelton, she was born July 21, 1931, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Stella (Angelini) Ballerini. She was married to Marlin R. Gatty, and her death breaks a marital union of more than 59 years.

Elizabeth was a devout wife, mother and Roman Catholic. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg, was a volunteer at local nursing homes and the Guild for the Blind and was a devout lay Carmelite nun.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Marlin G. Gatty, Scott W. Gatty, Carolyn M. Gatty and Maria Petorak; three grandchildren, Cristina, Nicholas and Lara; one great-granddaughter, Cassandra; one sister, Gloria Bauer; and one brother, William Ballerini.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Church, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson as celebrant.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide flowers and asks that donations in Elizabeth’s memory be made to the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village Rehabilitation Department, 889 Fairground Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837, or Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837, or Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.

Funeral arrangements are by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg.
