— SELINSGROVE — Shirley I. Heintzelman, 73, of Mill Road, passed away early Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born Jan. 3, 1941, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Raymond and Chrystobel U. (Vonada) Furman. On July 20, 1957, she married Charles L. Heintzelman, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1988.

Shirley attended the Ramsey School until eighth grade and later attended Sunbury High School.

She was employed as an agent by the Earl Ferster State Farm Insurance Agency. She later retired from the mortgage business and eventually worked for the American Red Cross.

Shirley was a Christian. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1173 ladies auxiliary, Selinsgrove.

Shirley was an avid card player and enjoyed cooking and baking. She also loved to spend time with her family and took care of others any time she was able.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Diane Heintzelman, of Mifflinburg, and Jeffrey and Deb Heintzelman, of Sunbury; three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda (Heintzelman) Benner, of Sunbury, Wendy (Heintzelman) McFern, of Sunbury, and Jennifer (Heintzelman) and Andy Hauck, of Selinsgrove; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Vera Furman, of Sunbury; one sister, Harriet Daise, of Sunbury; and one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Keith and Linda Wolf, of Selinsgrove, Udella “Rick” Heintzelman, of Liverpool, Virginia Aucker, of Oriental and Rosemary Hendricks, of Selinsgrove.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Furman; one sister, Nancy Furman; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Paul Daise, Ruth Furman, Reno Heintzelman, George “Peck” and Treva Heintzelman and Leroy Hendricks; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles F. and Florence Heintzelman.

Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Road, Mifflinburg, where a memorial service will follow at 11:30 with Pastor Eric Reamer officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Witmer’s Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
