COAL TOWNSHIP — Nannette M. “Nan” Shevitski, 72, of 1782 Tioga St., formerly of Shamrock Mills for 10 years, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 24, 1938, in Hegins, a daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Shull) Krasicski. On July 22, 1957, in Shamokin, she married James T. Shevitski, who survives. They celebrated their 53rd anniversary in July.
She attended Mount Carmel schools and lived most of her life in Shamokin.
Nannette was a homemaker, and earlier in her life, she was employed by Shroyer’s Dress factory.
She attended First United Methodist Church, Mount Carmel.
Nannette was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed walks in the woods with her husband and her two loving companions, their cockapoos, Rusty and Bandit. She was a very avid bingo player in the Shamokin and Sunbury areas and was known as “B4.”
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen and Steve Broscious, of Shamokin, Kathleen and Ray Hancock, of Coal Township, and Patty Parker, of Shamokin; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Shevitski, of Paxinos; 10 grandchildren, Chrissy Rosso, Kelly Long, David Long, Ian Hancock, Rebecca Hancock, Ryan Shevitski, Jennifer Shevitski, Autumn Kessler, Miraranda Kessler and Diane Fink; six great-grandchildren, Jackson Hancock, Trista Tehansky, Brady Ceedor, Kaile Pancher, Gage Trough and Madison Trough; and one sister, Janice Kimsal, of Mount Carmel.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Shull.
The viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, followed by the funeral at 10, at the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, with the Rev. Anthony Curran officiating.
Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Coal Township.
