Ryan A. “Dewy” Showers, 19, Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND — Ryan A. “Dewy” Showers, 19, of Northumberland, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, due to complications from an auto accident.

He was born Jan. 26, 1994, in Danville, a son of Steven Showers and Marci J. Sees, who survive.

He was a 2012 graduate of Shikellamy High School and was active in the Ivy League, wrestling and baseball while at Shikellamy. He also enjoyed playing in the Northumberland Acorn League, hunting, fishing and cheering for his favorite teams, the Eagles, Phillies and Steelers.

He was employed by Mohawk Flush Doors.

Ryan was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepparents, William Alvarez and Ann L. Showers; grandparents, Harold and Donna Sees, Juanita Alvarez, Patricia and William Hathaway and Harold Showers; brothers and sisters, Kilee Jo Showers, Shai Alvarez and Isaac Holley; stepbrothers and sisters, Laurie Riggs, Steven Riggs, Preston Rivera and Cameron Rivera; one niece; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two uncles, Todd Jeffrey Sees and Gary Allen Showers; and one sister, Elizabeth Marie Showers.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northumberland, with the Rev. Ruth Moll officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ryan’s memory may be made to the Northumberland National Bank for a trust fund to help his family with expenses.
