DANVILLE — Margaret H. Bilder, 90, of Upper Mulberry Street, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Danville, a daughter of the late William and Helen (Havern) Ward. She was married for 24 years to her beloved husband, John D. Bilder, who preceded her in death in 1964.
Margaret was a 1940 graduate of Danville High School.
After graduation, she worked at RCA in New Jersey for a number of years.
Margaret was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church, Danville, where she was a member of the quilting club.
She was a consummate homemaker, enjoying all of the facets that it encompassed. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. Her “beloved sons” were her life.
Margaret is survived by two sons, John W. Bilder and James D. Bilder, and one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Darvin Zechman, all of Danville; three grandchildren, John and his wife, Brittney, Melissa and Dylan; three stepgrandchildren, John, Jason and Elan; one great-granddaughter, Lexi; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Karen Neaus; two brothers, Billy and James Ward; and one sister, Mary Bolin.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church, 18 E. Market St., Danville, with her pastor, the Rev. Tri M. Luong, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
