— MILTON — Rose Mary (Kostrzewski) Mader, 82, of Milton, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

She was born April 26, 1930, in Shenandoah, a daughter of the late Joseph and Helena (Lorah) Kostrzewski. Rose Mary was married to Joseph M. Mader on May 12, 1951. He preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1997.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Shenandoah, where she taught Sunday school and St. John’s United Church of Christ, New Columbia where she was involved in fundraising.

She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U.

Rose Mary was very active in the Republican party in Schuylkill County.

She enjoyed roller-skating, playing bingo, quilting, needleworking, doing word games and spending time with her dog “Flash.”

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law,  Cheryl Ann and Edward A.Sowul, of Milton; two grandchildren, Kendra R. Miller, of Missouri and Kalen E. Sowul, of Milton; one brother, Charles Kostrzewski, of Mahanoy City; one sister, Helene Vernosky, of Ashland; and one sister-in-law Janice Kostrewski, of Sarasota, Fla.

In addition to her husband and parents, one brother Joseph preceded her in death.

There will be a public viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, followed by the funeral at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Seagle officiating.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Cemetery, 114 South Chestnut Street, Shenandoah, PA 17976.
