NEW COLUMBIA — John Daniel Bingaman Sr., 76, of 433 Main St., entered into rest at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Laurel Park, a son of the late Ammon and Violet (Zimmerman) Bingaman. On June 17, 1961, in Montandon, he married the former Pauline Gloria Swartz, who survives.
John was a 1954 graduate of Mifflinburg High School and that year enlisted in the Army, where he served honorably in numerous positions until his retirement in 1975.
John loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Daniel Jr. and Becky Bingaman, of Mifflinburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leilani and Christopher Falck, of Mifflinburg, and Wendy and Jeff Daubert, of New York; seven grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lavone and Robert Delsite, of Laurelton, and Bonnie Fultz, of Burnham; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Bingaman, of Milton.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Marlin Bingaman, and one grandson, Austin James Robenolt.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at New Hope Bible Church, 310 Raven Lane, Mifflinburg, where the memorial service will be held at 11 with the Rev. Richard M. VonNeida officiating. A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow the service.
