WATSONTOWN — Richard Albert Rump, 70, of Loop Road, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation.
He was born Nov. 9, 1942, in Muncy, the son of the late Albert and Margaret A. (Fritz) Rump.
Richard was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery High School.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving in Europe during the Vietnam War.
Richard worked as a truck driver for Smith’s, Associated and Cooper Jarrett. He retired from Preston Trucking, now Yellow Freight.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 764 and a life member of Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post 323, Watsontown.
Richard enjoyed NASCAR and socializing with his friends at the Watsontown Short Stop, the Allenwood Diner, S&L Garage and the Checkered Flag.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John A. and Diane Rump, of Bossier City, La.; and one granddaughter, Addison Clare Rump, also of Bossier City.
In respect for Richard’s wishes, there will be no services.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
