LEWISBURG — Charles H. Phelps, 83, of 60 North Front St, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 20,2013 at RiverWoods.
A native of Bronxville, N.Y., he was born Nov. 6, 1930, a son of the late Charles H. and Frances W. (Brown) Phelps II. He was married to the former Nancy Lee Young who preceded him in death Jan. 21,2011.
Charles was a graduate of the Middlesex Prep School and received a BA in Engineering from Princeton University.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Army.
Charles was an electrical engineer working with aspects of radio frequency and its applications.
He was an accomplished pianist, played guitar, composed music, played piano at his church and was active in music events at Rollermills and in bluegrass events.
He enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, fixing clocks and guitars and had a booth at Rollermills.
He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Susquehanna Valley, Northumberland
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Alden and Elizabeth Phelps of Randallstown, Md.; two grandsons, Peter and Samuel; and one sister, Leslie Benedict from Littleton Col.
He was preceded in death by two siblings.
Memorial services will be announced later.
