Phillip R. Fetzko, 65, Kreamer

— KREAMER — Phillip R. Fetzko, 65, of Kreamer, formerly of 913 N. Vine Street, Shamokin, went home to our Lord on Friday, Dec. 20th, 2013.

Phil was born on Oct. 31, 1948, in Danville. He was a son of the late Thomas Fetzko and Mary (Bednarczyk) Fetzko.

Phil was a member of Lourdes High School Class of 1966 and a graduate of Bloomsburg State College January 1971.

In April, 1971, he attended basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and served in the Army Reserve Unit 643rd in Lewisburg from 1972 to 1980.

Phil taught 5th grade at Maclay Elementary School and later at Chief Shikellamy Elementary School in Sunbury until his retirement in June 2005.

In addition to teaching, he enjoyed coaching the flag football teams.

Outside of work, Phil was a devoted father and husband as well as an avid sports fan. He cherished spending time with his family and never failed to help friends and loved ones in need.

Phil also enjoyed many different hobbies throughout his 65 years, such as golf, volleyball, gardening, going to Penn State games, and cheering for the Eagles and Phillies.

He loved to fish and looked forward to his annual fishing trip to Canada and relaxing at his lake house at Newton Lake. He also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and cruises.

Phil was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Selinsgrove, where he served as an usher.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of PSEA/ NEA, the American Legion, the Americus Hose Company, and the Moose.

He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of laughter, and his devotion to his family.

He leaves his loving wife, Jean; three daughters, Jennifer, of Montclair, N.J., Mary, of Brookville, Md., and  Diane Wettig, of Manheim; and son, Phillip, of Conshohocken; two sons-in-law, Shawn Wettig and  Jesus Reyes; two granddaughters, Gabriella and Alexis Wettig; two grandsons, Lucas Reyes-Fetzko and Peyton Wettig; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and John Jayman of Baltimore, Md., and Barbara and John Gotaskie, of Sunbury; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Bollinger of Simpson, and Nancy Washeleski, of Carbondale; nieces, nephews, and spouses: John R. Jayman, Barbara Jude Jayman, John and Val Gotaskie Jr., Jeffrey and Rebecca Gotaskie, Christine Fetzko, Karen and Christian Schulz, Stephanie and Patrick Pyle, Mark Fetzko, Bobby and Sue Bollinger, Jaime Bollinger, and Jeffrey Washeleski. He also was supportive of Chris Kopinto, boyfriend of Jennifer Fetzko.

He is predeceased by brothers, Thomas and Edward Fetzko; and brothers-in-law, Joe Washeleski and Bob Bollinger.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Church, Selinsgrove.

Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
