SUNBURY — Emanuel “Sonny” Drumheller, 68, of Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Emanuel and Fannie (Carter) Drumheller. Emanuel served with the Army in Vietnam.
He was employed by Penn Lyon Homes, Selinsgrove.
He was a member of the Sunbury Eagles, the Sunbury Elks Lodge, the Sunbury Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post 201, the Sunbury VFW, the Sunbury Fire Co. No. 1, the Point Township Fire Co., Cooties Association and the Disabled American Veteran’s Association.
Emanuel enjoyed, fishing, hunting and cooking.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Thad Houdeshell, of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Jessica Hummel and fiancee, Otis Hull, Hailey Houdeshell, Aleigha Decker, Bryan Auman, Cordell Houdeshell and Eric Decker III; two great-grandchildren, Novalie Hummel and Jayla Diaz; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Terry Drumheller, of Shamokin, Larry and Joy Drumheller, of Sunbury, Clarence and Karen Drumheller, of Sunbury, Rick and Harriet Drumheller, of Shamokin, Larry Dumheller, of Connecticut, and Michael Drumheller, of Middleburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ida and Paul Kemberling, of Northumberland, Frances and Kenneth Heffner and Irene Walker, all of Sunbury; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Shelia Arnold, of Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Calvin; one brother, Charles; one sister, Dora Jefferys; and two sisters-in-law, Kathie Drumheller and Char Drumheller.
Friends will be received from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury followed by a memorial service at 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to help defray funeral costs.
