— GIBSON, N.C. — Wayne Matthew Malick, 31, of Gibson, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Lewisburg, Pa.

A native of Union County, Pa., he was born June 30, 1981, in Lewisburg, a son of Wayne K. and Patricia R. (Heasley) Malick, of Gibson.

He was in his second year at Richmond Community College in Rockingham, N.C. Wayne was a six-year veteran serving in the Army with the 101st Airborne Division and had served one tour in Afghanistan.

Wayne loved music, helping people in need and was a very loving uncle of two beautiful nieces, Brooke and Jenna.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is survived by one sister, Kimber Leigh Robinson, of Virginia Beach, Va.; paternal grandmother, Doris E. Morgan, of Winfield, Pa.; maternal grandmother, Ruth C. Viselli, of New Wilmington; and two nieces, Brooke Romeo and Jenna Reed.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, with his uncle, Mark Malick, officiating.

An additional memorial service will be held in Laurinburg, N.C., for local friends and fellow soldiers at a date to be determined.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
