— DALMATIA — Sylvia Pearl Heckert, 98, a resident at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg, and formerly of Dalmatia, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013.

She was born in Dalmatia, a daughter of the late Leroy and Bessie (Clouser) White. She was married to W. Thomas Heckert who preceded her in death.

She was retired from the former Muskin Shoe factory in Millersburg and also had worked at the Dalmatia Milling Company and Dalmatia Shirt and Dress factory.

Pearl was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Dalmatia, the Dalmatia Fire Co., the Lower Mahantango Historical Society, OES, and was a former den mother for the Boy Scouts.

Sylvia enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Dangler and Virginia Shrawder, both of Dalmatia; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sally Heckert, of White Deer; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings and three step siblings.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Millersburg.

Inurnment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax
