His memberships included past president and member of the Mifflin-Juniata Board of Realtors, Centre County Association of Realtors, Huntingdon County Board of Realtors, Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Mifflin-Mifflintown Lions Club, Juniata County Farm Bureau, general association member of Appraisal Institute, Central Pennsylvania Chapter, past chairman of Central Juniata Emergency Medical Services, Juniata Sewage Committee, past president of Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging, past vice president of Mifflin-Juniata Aging Regional Services board and SEDA-Council of Governments board.

Although he loved to read, his lifelong passion was serving his community in various capacities.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two siblings, Marlin D. Kauffman and his wife, Margie, of Mifflintown, and Barbara J. Freeman and her husband, Frank, of Bloomingburg, N.Y., and he leaves behind a nephew, Frank Freeman Jr., and a niece, Jasmine Freeman.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in Lost Creek Mennonite Church, followed by the funeral at 10 with Pastor Sherman Stoltzfus officiating.

Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
