— LEWISBURG — Jean Elizabeth Pittenturf, 84, of 340 JPM Road, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born July 31, 1928, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Fred J. and Adda M. (Lebkicker) Carlson. On April 18, 1950, she married Free C. Pittenturf Jr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1983, after 32 years of marriage.

Jean graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1946.

She worked as a secretary at the former Donahoe Furniture Store, Lewisburg.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Lewisburg.

Jean enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, whom she cared for with love and affection.

Surviving are two nieces, Janet Smith and her husband, Jim, of Selinsgrove, and Barb Carlson, of Oceanview, Del.; four nephews, Gary Hassenplug and his wife, Pat, of Watsontown, Donald Hassenplug and his wife, Sue Ellen, and David Hassenplug and his wife, Vickie, all of Lewisburg, and Tim Carlson, of Oceanview, Del.; one sister-in-law, Leah Carlson, of Oceanvew. Del.; two cousins, Sandy Carlson Lumbard and Kelly Carlson, both of Frederick, Md.; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Hassenplug, and one brother, Donald Carlson.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 with her pastor, the Rev. Judi A. Dunkelberger, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
