SELINSGROVE — Robert E. Kerstetter Sr., 85, of 119 Route 204, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening, Jan. 14, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born June 30, 1927, in Selinsgrove, the son of the late Calvin S. and Flossie M. (Neitz) Kerstetter. He was married to the former Grace I. Hile, who preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 2008.
Bob was a 1945 graduate of Freeburg High School and attended Thompson Business School.
He served in the Army in Italy during World War II.
He retired from the office of special investigations of the Air Force, serving in Harrisburg, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. Bob was also a barber for 30 years, first in Liverpool and later at the Village Barber Shop in Selinsgrove.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Hummels Wharf, and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631, Selinsgrove, and a member of the Kreamer Sportsman’s Club.
Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife, Grace, and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Jr. and Barbara Kerstetter, of Fairfield; three grandchildren, John Kerstetter and wife Mandi, of Frederick, Md., and Rachel and Anna Kerstetter, both of Fairfield; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kathrynne, and Victoria, who is expected soon; and a special friend, Joan Hoover.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Rodney Gray officiating.
Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 and American Legion Victory Post 25, both of Selinsgrove, will be in Paradise Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
