Roger K. Hoffman, 71, Mifflinburg

— MIFFLINBURG — Roger Kiehl Hoffman, 71, of 157 Meadow Green Drive, formerly of Selinsgrove for 38 years, entered into rest Monday morning, July 22, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Hartleton, a son of the late Maynard E. and Mildred E. (Eberhart) Hoffman. On Jan. 19, 1963, in New Berlin, he married the former Donna L. Miller who survives.

Roger was a 1959 graduate of Mifflinburg High School. He served in the Army from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1961.

He was employed as a rate clerk for Hall’s Trucking, Mechanicsburg, Hess Trucking, Hershey over his 35 years of employment. He was most recently employed by Rich’s Transportation, Northumberland.

Roger was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.

Roger enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years, are one son and daughter-in-law, Daryl R. and Wendy J. Hoffman, of Millheim; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Detra J. and Timothy S. Dodge, of Mifflinburg, Danette R. and Curtis M. Pope, of Selinsgrove, and Crystal L. Hoffman, of Selinsgrove; 10 grandchildren, Amber R. Dickey, Tyler L. Hoffman, Caitlin A. Dodge, Derek M. Pope, Mallory E. Pope, Mason C. Pope, Lacy A. Adams, Keara M. Hess, Jacob M. Reiprich, and Oliver R. Margel; two great-grandchildren, Kaden K. Hoffman, and Canyon G. N. Dickey; one sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor R. and Donald Hoy, of Mifflinburg; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Hoffman, of Mifflinburg.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Forrest “Forry” S. Hoffman; and two grandchildren, Nathaniel K. Hoffman, and Jenna N. Pope.

There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are welcome for a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Christ United Methodist Church, 429 N. Eighth St., Selinsgrove, where a memorial service to celebrate the life of Roger will be conducted at 11 with Pastor Ryan Gephart officiating.
