She worked for the Shikellamy School District as a personal care aide and was stationed at Milton Area High School helping with alternative placement students.
Growing up, she followed in her paternal grandmothers footsteps participating in Girl Scouting and ORF. She was a member of the Eagles pool team.
Melissa loved life, traveling, her friends and experiencing all she could with her 13-year-old son, Alex. She loved her job and working with her special student.
She was very adventurous and traveled extensively as a child. She continued that passion into her adult life.
Surviving in addition to her parents are one son, Alexander Reichner; one sister, Megan Aikey and her husband Cory, of Sunbury; maternal grandmother, Jean Hare, of Sunbury; maternal grandfather, Herbert Beck and his wife Patti, of Sunbury; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As tragic a death that it was, the one thing that her family would like people to take away with it is to always be prepared and never leave things unfinished. Always live life to the fullest.
