SUNBURY — Lawrence A. “Larry” Dunn, 82, of Sunbury, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in the SUN Home Hospice Care Center.
He was born May 20, 1930, in Leolyn, a son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Smith) Dunn. On Dec. 2, 1951, he married the former Johanna S. Smith, who survives.
Larry was a 1948 graduate of Williamsport High School and then went on to serve his country during the Korean War in the Air Force.
Larry and his wife worked a dairy farm north of Williamsport for many years. He also worked on the farm crew for Furman’s for 15 years and in later life drove truck for Temple Products.
Larry was an avid hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary W. and Helen Dunn, of Lewisberry, and Raymond E. and Patty Dunn, of Newburn, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Thomas Mattas, of Puntagorda, Fla.; six grandchildren, Matthew, Cory, Greg, Michelle, Travis and Cody; one brother, Wesley Dunn, of Wellsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Saturday in Sunbury Bible Church, Northumberland, with his brother-in-law, Dr. Jonathan Smith, officiating.
Burial will be held on Thursday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to the donor’s favorite missionary.
