Lucille K. Buchanan, 86, Selinsgrove

SELINSGROVE — Lucille K. Buchanan, 86, of Calvet Place, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her home.

She was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Selinsgrove, a daughter of the late Guy and Florence (Mull) Beaver. She married Hiram V. “Bucky” Buchanan who preceded her in death on April, 11, 1996.

Lucille was a 1944 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.

She had been employed at the Selinsgrove Center in personnel where she retired in 1986 after 25 years.

Lucille attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, Selinsgrove and was a former member of the Susquehanna Valley Country Club.

In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip G. and Therese Buchanan, of Clifton, Va.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Nathan and Stacey Buchanan, Christopher and Kathrine Buchanan and Laura and Paul Masur; and two great-grandchildren, Keira and Malcom.

She was preceded in death by one son, David M. Buchanan in 1962.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, 400 N. Market St., Selinsgrove, followed by a memorial service at 11 with the Rev. Dietmar Plajer officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.

Contributions in her memory in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, 400 N. Market St., Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
