COAL TOWNSHIP — John J. Ruback Jr., 52, of 1758 Clinton Ave., passed away suddenly at 1:11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, in the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital after being stricken at home.
He was born May 6, 1961, in Danville, a son of Marilyn (Shipe) Ruback and the late John J. Ruback Sr.
John was a 1979 graduate of our Lady of Lourdes High School and received his bachelors degree in 1983 from Penn State University.
John resided in Landsdale for 27 years before returning back to the area. He was owner of Ruback and Associates LLC Public Insurance Adjusters for the past six years.
He attended Our Lady of Hope church and was a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, the American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters where he was the membership chairman, the Mid Atlantic Association of Public Insurance Adjusters where he was an officer and secretary. He was licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was also a member of the Shamokin Kiwanis Club and the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce.
John loved riding his Harley Davidson and adored his puppies.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by several cousins and his two English Springer Spaniels, Cochise and Masta.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Church, 863 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 with Father Adrian Gallagher as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Peters Blue Church Cemetery, Paxinos.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes High School.
