WATSONTOWN — Eleanor Mae Ryan, 89, formerly of Watsontown, most recently of Milton Nursing and Rehab Center, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.
She was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Watsontown, a daughter of the late Alan Leroy and Jennie Mae (Phillips) McCollin. On May 3, 1943, she married Bruce Edward Ryan, who preceded her in death March 2, 2001. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Eleanor was a homemaker spending most of her life raising her family.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Terry L. and Sally Ryan, of Turbotville; one daughter, Sandra L. Craig, of Watsontown; two sisters, Jean Ryan and Beatrice Dewalt, both of Milton; three grandchildren, Bruce and Kim Craig, and Teresa Ritter; and seven great-grandchildren, Braden Ryan, Raelynn McCarty, Kylee Carpenter, Grant and Garrett Craig, and Taylor and Tyler Ritter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and John McCollin; three sisters, Shirley and Ruth Derr, and Helen Lindaur; two stepsons, Bruce Ryan Jr. and Neil Ryan; and four grandchildren, Terry L. Ryan II and Tiffanni Ryan, and Todd and Timothy Craig.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dale Hippensteel of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
