Albert L. Snyder, 87, Milton

— MILTON — Albert L. Snyder, 87, of Eastern Avenue, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.  

He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Dauphin County, and was raised by the late Edward and Gertrude Hoffman.

Albert attended Milton schools and served in the Navy during World War II.  

He owned Snyder’s Atlantic Service Station in Milton and worked as a custodian at the Milton Junior High School.  

He was a 76-year member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton.  

Albert was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed camping and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his faithful dog, Cocoa.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Carol Snyder, of Northumberland and Jim and Georgia Snyder, of Selinsgrove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Gary Fawcett, of Winfield and Janet and David Smalt, of Milton; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Albert was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Sampsell.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating.  

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, Milton.
