PENNS CREEK — Barbara J. “Barb” Houseworth, 57, of Raspberry Street, passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 5, 2013, at the home of her mother, who had been caring for her during her illness.
She was born June 8, 1956, in Sayre, a daughter of Rosemary Williams Lantz, of Middleburg, and the late Joseph Henry Lantz. On June 30, 1979, she married David S. Houseworth, who survives.
Barb was a graduate of Penn View Bible Institute and attended Calvary Chapel, Millmont.
Early in life she had been employed by the Rock Oak Country Kitchen and more recently was the notary and owner of Houseworth’s Auto Sales, Penns Creek.
Barb enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking and will be remembered for thinking of and caring for others.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by three children, Curtis J., Shante´ R. and Devin T. Houseworth, all of Penns Creek; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel C. and Carol Lantz , Jerry L. and Benita Lantz, and Jason J. Lantz, all of Middleburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darla J. and Brian Kidwell, of Wilmore, Ky., and Brenda K. and Bob Engle, of Beavertown; nine nieces and four nephews; and 17 great-nieces and six great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Wesley J. Lantz.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Chapel, Millmont, followed by the funeral at 3 with the Rev. Jeff West officiating.
Burial will be in Beavertown God’s Missionary Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
