Margaret P. Phillips, 93, Elysburg

— ELYSBURG — Margaret P. Phillips, 93, formerly of Elysburg, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Grandview Health Homes Danville. She had lived with her son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Maureen Phillips of Elysburg for the past 10 years.

She was born in West Cameron Twp. on Jan. 11, 1921, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Katie (Gottshall) Kerstetter. Margaret was married on June 26, 1948, in The Reformed Church in Gowen City to Jonathan “Frank” Phillips, who preceded her in death on June 12, 2009.

She was a former resident of West Cameron for 58 years and attended West Cameron Schools.

Early in life she was employed as a head cook for the former Burton Rogers Home in Herndon and later a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, West Cameron.

Margaret enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Maureen Phillips, of Elysburg;two precious grandchildren, Amber and Kelsey Phillips, of Elysburg; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Lamar and Carl Kerstetter, and one sister in infancy, Charlotte.

Visitors may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Frederick Faust officiating.

Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery RR Dalmatia.
