WINFIELD — Susan L. Gray, 60, of Felmey Road, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
She was born June 25, 1953, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Howard A. Sr. and Lois J. (Mitchell) Haines. On May 20, 1978, she married Thomas J. Gray Jr., who survives.
Susan was a 1971 graduate of Middleburg High School.
She retired in 2005 after 32 years of service at the Selinsgrove Center.
She was a member of First Regular Baptist Church, Northumberland, where she was active in youth activities.
Sue had a passion for family and all children. She was willing to help family wherever the need occurred. This was exemplified in her devotion as a mother, foster parenting of young children and her multiple trips out of state with her sister-in-law, Laurie, during her battle with cancer.
In addition to her husband of 35 years, she is survived by two sons, Thomas F. Gray, of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Brandon H. Gray, of Winfield; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dolly and Raymond Smith and Rachel and Elwood Kline, all of Middleburg, and Terrie and Joe Reich, of Winfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard Jr. and Evelyn Haines, of Auburn, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from noon to 1 Saturday in First Regular Baptist Church, Second and Queen streets, Northumberland, followed by a celebration of her life at 1 with Pastor Michael Cantine officiating.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Mifflinburg.
