HARRISBURG — Robert L. Coup, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.
He was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Milton, a son of the late John and Sarah (Wolford) Coup. He was married to the former Ruth Hicks, who preceded him in death.
Robert served in the Army during World War II under Gen. George Patton during the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a self-employed mechanic who worked for Sunoco and the Harrisburg Nash.
Robert was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and the Harrisburg British-American Club.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and vacationing in Cape May, N.J.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Ken Kline, of Harrisburg; one granddaughter, Dawn White and husband, Matt; one grandson, Gareth Kauffman; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth White, and Autumn and Tyler Kauffman.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred, Ethel, Bessie, Zella and Alice.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Auer Cremation Services of Pennsylvania Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, with a visitation beginning at noon.
Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
