SELINSGROVE — Theodore A. Poltrock, 82, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born June 8, 1931, in Glen Lyon, a son of the late William C. and Anna (Kashner) Poltrock. He married Christine D. Rominski in 1957. They celebrated 56 years of marriage in March.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1948 to 1952 in the Air Force. He attended Pennsylvania State University and was a 1954 graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
A 37½-year veteran of the state police, he was station commander at the Milton, Selinsgrove, and Stonington barracks. Following his retirement from the state police, Ted served as the director of security for Weis Markets.
A 60-plus-year member of Masonic Lodge 541 in Nanticoke, Ted also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 49 and Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25. He was a longstanding member of the Norry Gun Club, as well as the Carlisle Fish & Game Club and the Millvale Sportsman’s Club in Wexford. Ted enjoyed decades of shooting at the Nauset Rod & Gun Club and the Bass River Rod & Gun Club on Cape Cod.
In addition to his beloved wife, Christine, he is survived by one daughter, Leigh Ann Poltrock Clouse and husband, David, of Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren, Sophia Grace Clouse and Rory MacCallum Clouse.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William K. and Frederick H. Poltrock.
Ted will be interred in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, in a private burial service.
