LEWISBURG — C. Robert Wright, 93, formerly of Canal Street, Watsontown, and Ridgecrest Circle, Lewisburg, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
He was born March 27, 1920, in Watsontown, a son of the late Chris and Catherine (Muffly) Wright.
Bob was an Army Air Corps veteran who served during World War II, after which he attended Bucknell University and received a degree in civil engineering.
He worked for the federal government in the Bureau of Roads and Transportation and traveled extensively throughout the continental United States and Alaska.
In his retirement, he enjoyed refurbishing his home and furnishing it with antiques, of which he was an avid collector.
He is survived by one brother, Jack Wright, of Topeka, Kan., and nieces and nephews, Katie and Bob Franks, of Danville, Kathy and Jim Dunn, of Scottsville, N.Y., Chris and Judy Boughter, of Omaha, Neb., Dick and Berrie Boughter, of Kent, Wash., Jerry and Connie Wright, of Williamsport, Betsy Millard and Mark Tyler, of Ocean Park, Wash., Abby and Tobias Schlingensiepen, of Topeka, Kan., Cathlin and Michael Almond, of Topeka, Sarah and Tom Hughes, of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Bill and Peggy Boulay, of Las Vegas, Nev.
Bob was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Watsontown Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and suggests contributions in Bob’s memory be made to PA PETS, 188 Brookpark Circle, Lewisburg, PA 17837, or the Montgomery House Library, P.O. Box 5, McEwensville, PA 17749.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Watsontown.
