SUNBURY — Jeanette L. Schleig, 86, of 459 N. Fourth St., passed into eternity to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Harry and Lillian (Neitz) Troup. On April 24, 1946, she married Kenneth Schleig, who preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage.
Jeanette was a 1945 graduate of Sunbury High School.
She was employed as a waitress for 24 years at the former Dutch Pantry restaurant in Sunbury, retiring in 1982.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joel “Tinker” Jr., at home, Daniel and Ann Schleig, of York, and David and Cindy Schleig, of San Jacinto, Calif.; one daughter, Kathy Knoebel and her companion, William Shultz, of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Amy Eckenrode and her husband, Travis, Daniel Schleig Jr. and his wife, Allison, and Sydney Knoebel; two great-grandchildren, Tristan Clair and Ava Louise Eckenrode; and two sisters, Nancy Gelnett, of Sunbury, and Pat Herman, of Lewisberry.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Artie and Harry Jr., and three sisters, Lois, Barbara and Phyllis.
She was a good mother who will be missed until we meet her again on the other side.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
Funeral arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
