SELINSGROVE — Gary L. Bowers, 57, of Art Lane, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1956, in Sunbury, a son of Dorothy (Swartz) Bowers, of Trevorton, and the late Mark Bowers. On March 20, 1978, he married the former Cynthia L. Dombroski, who survives.
Gary was a 1974 graduate of Line Mountain High School.
He began employment with PPL in 1977 in Shamokin Dam and later transferred to the Washingtonville plant, where he worked as a machinist.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1600.
Gary was a talented woodworker who made furniture and other pieces.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Angela N. and Scott W. Moyer and Jill M. Bowers, and two granddaughters, Riley and Avery Moyer, all of Selinsgrove; two brothers, Mark Bowers, of Dornsife, and Raymond Bowers, of Selinsgrove; and three sisters, Joanne Swank and Brenda Breinick, both of Trevorton, and Bonnie Wolfe, of Paxinos.
Friends and family may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Drive, Selinsgrove, with Father Daniel Powell as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
