TURBOTVILLE — Dale E. Conard, 70, of Gold Road, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Jan. 21, 1942, in rural Turbotville, he was the son of the late George W. and Ellen Mary (Brown) Conard. He married the former Bernadine E. Herriman on April 25, 1964, and they celebrated 41 years of marriage until her death June 15, 2005.
Dale had worked at the former Weldon’s, Williamsport; Zenith and Masonite Companies in Watsontown, and then retired from Sears at the Lycoming Mall.
He enjoyed cutting wood, working outdoors around his home, and earlier in his life he enjoyed playing softball. He liked the company of his German Shepherd, Shiva and his cat Lucky, but loved the company of his daughter and her friends, especially when they would go out for lunch at the Fence Restaurant. He also enjoyed breakfast routinely at either the Tin Cup in Turbotville or Butler’s Eatery, Hughesville.
Surviving are one daughter, Jill D. Conard, of Turbotville; three grandchildren, Hope Elizabeth, Jenna Jessica, and Jonathan Parke, all of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Paul (Ann) Conard, of Bloomsburg, and one niece who was raised as a sister, Eleanor (John) Hemrick, of Muncy.
Preceding him in death besides his wife were four brothers, George, Donald “Bud”, Jack, and Dean Conard; and six sisters, Ida Watts, Mary Kriner, Mildred Auten, Grace Zimmerman, Ruth Tyson, and Kathryn Saunders.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Erwin Roux of Zion Lutheran Church, Turbotville officiating.
Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
