— DANVILLE — The Lord opened the gates of Heaven and welcomed his angel home, freeing her of the bonds of pain and suffering. Yvonne D. Dawson, 45, of Steltz Road, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at her home after a 15-year battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1968, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Lloyd Sr. and Barbara (Schultz) Craig of Danville.

Yvonne was a graduate of Danville High School Class of 1986 and later attended Williamsport Area Community College.

She worked at Bloomsburg University for more than seven years.

She had a love for animals and a soft spot for strays.

Yvonne started indoor yard sales for the Espy Fire Company and enjoyed playing Bingo there as well. She was a Girl Scout Leader and was the cookie chairman.

She loved camping with her family in their RV and enjoyed cross stich and going to yard sales.

Her love was simply spending time with her children, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her beloved husband of seven years, Jeff Dawson Jr.; one son, Brandon Snyder; one daughter, Katie Snyder; two brothers and sisters-in-law,  Lloyd Jr. and Teresa Craig and Shane and Kristy Craig, all of Danville. Yvonne is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Jeff Sr. and Mary Anne Dawson of Espy, one brother-in-law, Chris Dawson of Florida; one niece, Kendra Craig; as well as one nephew, Austin Craig.

A celebration of Yvonnes’ life will be held 6 p.m. Friday, March 8 at the Espy Fire Company, 300 Tenny Street, Espy.

The family will provide flowers.

For those who are able, the family requests that you donate blood at Geisinger Medical Center in Yvonnes’ name.

For those who are not able to donate blood, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Montour County Chapter, Theresa’s Trees Team Relay for Life, 1948 East 3rd Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
